I was glad to receive your letter of November lO and to learn of your genuine anddeep interest in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Whenever a man gets interested in the things of God, one can expect to find our enemy the devil offering substitutes and counterfeits, distractions and stumbling blocks. This was certainly true in my own case and I know you will want to be alert to the deception of God's enemy. Jesus said, "I am the Truth" so that in Him alone do we find the ultimate answer, the ultimate power and authority of God.
In His Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) Jesus Christ said, "False Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Lo, I have told you beforehand".
In 2 Corinthinians, Chapter ll we have these words, as Paul reminds us of the activity of false teachers and false Christs, "such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is not strange if his servants disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds".
John in his first letter, (IJohn 4), "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, to see whether they are of God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God° This is the spirit of antichrist, of which you have heard that it was coming and even now is in the world".
Having taken LEDs and seen visions and been influemced by spirits, demons and beings which belong to the host of fallen angels of Satan, I know the realities you are speaking of when you mention the Rosconian Fellowship. The power and magnetic attraction can be subtle, appealing, attractive and dudly. There ia always a form of blindness which accompanies the workings of false Christs and one is almost hypnotically seduced into disfunction.
God's grace is directly available to you, no intermediabies are necessary. "There is one God and one mediator between Cod and menI the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all" (I Timothy 2:5).
Hebrews 9:28 and Romans 6:10 assure us that Christ died once for the sins of all men. we have an advocate vith the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He is the expiation for our sins, and act only for ours, but also for the sins of the entire world" (I Jn 2:1,2).
Colossians 1:15 assures us, "Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation, for all things~ were created in himo..and for him..°in him all the fulnesa of God was pleased to dwell.°
I.John tells us tha~ "god is love" and we have tae constant assurance of God's love for us° "Herein is love, mot that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins" (I John 4:10). Thus Jesus wants to pour his love first into your heart, then when you are acquainted with him, your~ natural response will be one of love. I wou~ not be surprised to learn that the devil might attempt to counterfeit the love i) of God, but Jesus said of Satan, "he is a liar and a seer sucker from the beginning..
God does not want you to join an organization or a special fellowship group. The church of Jesus Christ is a living body of all believers which you are a member of from the moment you receive Jesus C~rist into your heart as Lord. Jesus Christ wants to set you free from organizations, committees and regulations (Read Colossians 2:18-23)°
Angelic visions, while rare are very real, but the truta can always be checked against Holy Scripture. Thus from the evidence you have presented, I am convinced you have seen a vision of Satanic origin. Remember the devil appears as an angel of light and would be immediatly recognized as evil if he didnit use subtle ways°
It is vitally important that you make your personal commitment to Jesus Christ immediatly, for we all need God's po.er to fight evil and resist the devil. Re assured you have my prayers for God's wisdom and guidance~ I ~now yom are sincerely see~ing to know the true and living Lord Jesus Christ.
In Revelation ~20 Jesus says,"Behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door I will come i~to him and sup with him and he with me". Won't you in simple faith ask the Lord Jesus to enter your heart right now? I have certainly found Jesus Christ to be the one and on~ answer to all my deepest need~ and problems.
